phpRaid upgraded to WRM
I’ve upgraded the raid scheduling software at dotpguild.org to WoW Raid Manager version 3.6. The new signup site is at
Changes
This tool is pretty much identical to the signup software we have been using until now, with a few additions:
* Death Knights are included in the list of classes
* RSS support: click on the orange icon on the bottom right to see new raid events in your favorite RSS client. (If you don’t know what RSS is, don’t worry about this.)
* New feature: character roles (see below)
The only big change for most users is that you’ll have to modify your character profiles to indicate what raiding role your character fills. Current options are tank, healer, melee, and ranged. If you don’t do this, the site won’t let you sign up.
Asking players to list their roles is a bit of a hassle for you, but it will really help the raid team. Note that the raid roster pages are sorted by role by default, making it easy to see if we have the right number of tanks, healers, etc.
Transition
All raids occurring before February 24th will be listed only on the old phpRaid site. All raids occurring on or after February 24 will be listed only on the new WRM site. The phpRaid site will stick around for a few days during the transition, but by next weekend it will send you to WRM.
Be aware that while the new site uses the same usernames/passwords as the old one, it uses a new cookie, so you’ll have to log in by typing your name and password into the box in the top right.
The Bottom Line

Choose a role for your characters in your Profile
You’ll have to re-enter your username and password the first time.
